Three CICE second year students, Naomi Kells, Amy Lawrence and Stephen Middleton will participate this year in the 2012 North-South Student Exchange Project. This project involves students from colleges of education North and South of the border. It is funded by the Standing Conference on Teacher Education, North and South (SCoTENS) and managed by the Centre for Cross Border Studies (CCBS) in Armagh, in partnership with the participating colleges. The project has been very successful to date in providing students with opportunities to experience the education system of the neighbouring jurisdiction.
Naomi, Amy and Stephen will spend three weeks- form Monday 12th March until Friday 30th March 2010 – in school placements in Belfast . During this time they will stay at Stranmillis University College in south Belfast. The students will be assessed during the course of their placement both by their own institution and by the host institution as part of their overall teaching practice assessment. CICE is delighted to be associated with this very worthwhile project. The college wishes all student participants every success in this year’s exchange.
The picture was taken at an Orientation Day on Thursday 26th January, an event which was hosted by St.Patrick’s College Drumcondra. It shows students from the various colleges who are involved in this year’s exchange.
